Director Finance for a PE-Backed Software Group in Austria

Digital Future was engaged to fill a newly created Director Finance role for a private equity-backed SaaS company in Austria. With around 80 employees and revenues of approximately EUR 15 million, the company is pursuing an ambitious buy-and-build strategy.

The Director Finance was expected to work closely with the managing directors to establish professional financial structures, including monthly reporting, P&L and balance sheet oversight, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, while harmonizing accounting and controlling processes across newly acquired entities.

The search focused on hands-on finance leaders with experience in PE-backed SaaS environments, operational FP&A and controlling expertise, and exposure to acquisition consolidation. Within a few weeks, Digital Future identified a strong candidate pool, advancing seven candidates into the first stage and ultimately presenting two finalists.

The company successfully appointed an experienced Director Finance who now plays a key role in supporting the company’s buy-and-build journey and future growth.
