CFO for a PE-Backed Digital Agency Group

Digital Future was engaged to fill the critical CFO position for a private equity-backed holding company of two leading digital agencies. With around 250 employees worldwide and revenues of approximately EUR 30 million, the company is pursuing an ambitious growth strategy—both through organic initiatives and potential acquisitions.The new CFO was sought to partner closely with the two Co-CEOs as partof a three-member management team and to support the organization in navigating the current market consolidation phase. Key priorities included shaping and executing growth strategies, driving the creation of an integrated corporate group, and further professionalizing processes, organizational structures, and the internal IT landscape.The profile required a pragmatic, execution-driven finance leader—hands-on, decisive, and able to demonstrate strong leadership skills.

Previous experience in companies of 200–500 employees with revenues between EUR 10–50 million was highly relevant, as was familiarity with billing models based on billable hours, which are core to the agency business.

Our search strategy focused on candidates who could combine finance expertise with operational acumen, bringing both strategic vision and the ability to implement effectively in a fast-moving environment. Within a few weeks, we identified a strong candidate pool and guided three finalists into the last stage of the process. The company successfully appointed a seasoned CFO who now plays a pivotal role in advancing the integration journey, enabling sustainable growth, and preparing the organization for future expansion.
